Three Cases of Squamous Cell Carcinoma Complicated From Various Skin Diseases




Abstract
Squamous cell carcinoma arises from keratinizing epidermal cells, most commonly arises from sun damaged skin. The tumor has an increasing incidence with advancing age, and the average age of developing squamous cell carcinoma is approximately 60 year old.
The authors observed three patients with squamous cell carcinoma recently.
Case 1 : A 59-year-old Chinese male had ulceration on the left¢¥ index finger for one and half year. Bean sized verrucous lesion first appeared on left index and 5th metacarpophalangeal joint area 5 years ago and gradually enlarged.
Not only squamous cell carcinoma developed in the left index finger complicated from Bown¢¥s disease, but also developed Bowen¢¥s disease in the left 5th metacarpophalangeal joint area.
Case 2 : A 53-year-old male had egg-sized ulceration on occiptial area. About 20 years ago, a small nodule was developed on occiptial area. At the first examination skin lesion was smilar to basal cell epithelioma.
Case 3: A-54-year-old male had ulceration with pus discharge and foul odor on right sole. A small callus was developed on the anterior aspect of right sole followed by ulcer 13 years ago. He had been suffered from leprosy (L-type) since 38 years ago.
